It’s Not Because of Anything You’ve Done

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.  2 Corinthians 5:21

You are righteousness. 

You are a joint heir with Jesus (Romans 8:17).  

Jesus went to the cross and rose again to give you what He already had.  

Righteousness literally means “in right-standing with God.” It’s not because of anything you’ve done, it because God made you right with Him when you made Jesus your Lord. 

Righteousness is God’s gift to you.
