Activate Love

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.  He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.  1 John 2:5-6

Every spiritual force is activated by love. God has given you His Spirit to teach you how to love. With His power you can live a life full of love.

Think about some ways you can walk in love.

Here are some ideas…
Eating lunch with someone who sits alone.
Be a friend to someone.
Help someone with his or her homework.
Send an encouraging e-mail.

Love becomes active when you read the Bible and live what you read.

Family! Babies Don't Keep

Mother, oh mother, come shake out your cloth!
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing and butter the bread,
Sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking!

Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue
Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby, loo.
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo.
The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew
And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren't her eyes the most wonderful hue?
Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo.

Oh, cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
But children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust, go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby. Babies don't keep.

Family! Excuse This House

Some houses try to hide the fact

That children shelter there,
Ours boasts it quite openly,
The signs are everywhere.

For smears are on the windows,
Little smudges are on the doors
I should apologize, I guess
For toys strewn on the floor.

But I sat down with my child
And we played and laughed and read
And if the doorbell doesn’t shine,
His eyes will shine instead.

For when at times I’m forced to choose
The one job or the other,
I’d like to cook and clean and scrub,
But first I’ll be a mother.

Family! Little Fellow

There are little eyes upon you,
And they're watching night and day;
There are little ears that quickly take in
Every word you say.

There are little hands all eager
To do every thing you do,
And a little boy who's dreaming
Of the day he'll be like you.
You're the little fellow's idol.
You're the wisest of the wise;
In his little mind about you
No suspicions ever rise.

There's a wide-eyed little fellow
Who believes you're always right;
And his ears are always open
As he watches day and night.

You are setting an example
Every day in all you do
For a little boy who's waiting
To grow up to be like you.

To Encourage

Several years ago, I was asked to help write a daily devotional to encourage the teens in our youth group. They are short and sweet and to the point. Recently I found some of my my notes and the actual emails we sent. I'm quite excited to share these with you, to encourage you and "spur you on" in your adventure with God!

At the end of each devotional is a thought for the day, feel free to leave a comment or just meditate on what God is speaking to you through His Word.

Have Fun & Enjoy The Adventure!
