Wonderful Works

Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!  Psalm 107:8

Praise God for His Goodness to us. And ALL the wonderful things he has done for us. God, from the foundation of the world, set a good plan into action to show us His Goodness and Kindness. Jesus is the most excellent gift of the Father’s Goodness to us. In Christ we have ALL we need to live now and eternally!

Be Good

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.  Psalm 23:6

Goodness comes from the inside out.  Goodness and Kindness work together.  Ask God to show you someone that needs to see His goodness and kindness.  Show it to that person.  It may be helping out around the house or just being sweet to your brother or sister.  Let God’s goodness bring life to those around you.

Doing Something Good In A Bad Situation

But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him (the man who was robbed and beaten), he had compassion on him, and went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.  Luke 10:33-34

Do you remember the story of the Good Samaritan?  (If not you may want to go to Luke 10:30-37 and read the story.)  In a nutshell, the Good Samaritan did something about a bad situation.  He went out of his way to make things better.  He showed God’s love and goodness to a complete stranger!  Is there someone around you who’s going through a rough situation?  Find something you can do to help them.

More Fruit...

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.  Galatians 5:22-23

Goodness – it’s more than nice.  Goodness is making deliberate choices of right over wrong, throwing up a wall of resistance when you feel like unleashing hurtful words or actions.  Goodness thinks and acts on the Fruit of the Spirit.

Outstanding!

And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.  Romans 15:14

This verse tells us that we have the God kind of Goodness living on the inside of us!  So, what is Goodness?  Webster defines goodness as: excellence (outstanding or of valuable quality, superior, first class) and virtue (moral excellence, strength, courage, valor).  Using this definition what are some ways you can show God’s goodness to those around you?
