Know & Apply

For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.  He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.  Proverbs 2:6-7

Wisdom is needed every day… Wisdom is knowing what to do and how to do it in every day decisions.

God is the giver of Wisdom. God has given us Wisdom in His Word.

He has given us knowledge and understanding. Knowledge is knowing the facts and Understanding is applying those facts to our daily lives.

Know and Apply His Word and see God’s Wisdom operate in your life!

How will you apply God's wisdom in your life?

Your Intended Purpose

But I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your Joy no man takes from you. And in that day ye shall ask me nothing for I say unto you whatsoever ye shall ask the Father he shall give it to you. Until this time have ye asked nothing in my name: ask and ye shall receive, that your JOY may be full. John 16:22-24

In these scriptures Jesus was speaking with the disciples right before he died. He was telling them that he would die BUT that he would rise again and see them again.

This means that when Jesus died and paid the price for sin, we are in relationship with God directly. No longer do we have to go through a priest or live our lives mistake free to have relationship with the Father God!

Now through Jesus we can ask for ALL the promises of God we want and receive ALL those promises!

When we start receiving and living in the promises of God our joy is full because we are living God’s intended purposes for our lives!

Today's Thought: What is your purpose? What desires and plans has God placed in your heart?

When Life Is Overwhelming

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.”  Philippians 4:4

Joy isn’t just a happy feeling when things are going well. Joy is a choice.

God’s joy gives you the strength to stand strong when life seems overwhelming.

Joy is one of the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22).  As a Christian you have joy living on the inside of you.  Draw it out – rejoice in the Lord always, remind yourself you can rejoice through Jesus.

Today's Thought: How will you choose to rejoice today?

Righteousness, Peace & Joy in the Holy Ghost

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.  Romans 14:17

How do you live in joy? Think about God’s promises to you. When you remember
God’s promises you will get excited about all the things He has planned for you.

One way to live in joy is to spend time with the Holy Spirit. Start with thanksgiving and praise for all He’s done for you. Joy will rise up within you. If you’re having problems at school, home or work, connect with the Holy Spirit. There is joy in the Holy Spirit.

When you’re filled with God’s strength nothing can stop you.  Live in His joy today and watch the problems disappear.

Family! While You Were Sleeping...

Isn't this the cutest little handprint?

We've tried several times to get a handprint of our little guy, but Caden's always so busy checking things out and crawling around, it seems like he's only still when he's asleep and even then he's wiggly!

Someone was extra sleepy this morning... so mommy worked quickly... dabbing a cotton ball in washable poster paint, getting a little hand all painted, which took several tries, Caden likes to curl his hand, touch his face and rub paint into the sheets and blankets, a few more tries to get that little painted hand to touch some paper... then ta-da! A beautiful little handprint! Yay!

Needless to say Caden got a bath when he woke up and I have laundry to do... so worth it though for this tiny handprint!

Check back around Thanksgiving to see why we wanted such a cute little handprint...

Joy Looks Good On You!

Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.  Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.  Psalm 32:11 – 33:1

Joy is like a blazing fire – it captures the attention of people in darkness.  As Believers we have great reason to be joyful! We know who we belong to, we know God loves us, we know we have a hope and a future! Joy will cause people to be drawn to you and you will have opportunities to tell others about God’s love for them. Joy looks good on you!

Be Strong

The joy of the Lord is your strength.  Nehemiah 8:10

When do we need strength?

We need inner strength when we are facing Life challenges. Joy in your life brings that inner strength!  When you spend time in God’s presence, reading the Bible and praying, the joy of the Lord will overflow out of you.  In God’s presence, You are reminded of all of God’s unfailing promises! As you focus on the Promises and Goodness of God you are strengthened to keep going and be strong, no matter what, because you realize the truth of the Word is stronger, bigger and better than any challenge you may be facing!

Good Morning

… Joy comes in the morning.  Psalm 30:5

What does that mean? In the morning? Does that mean Joy only happens at 7am? No, this verse implies that each day when we wake up we are reminded of God’s Promises in our lives and as we focus on those promises we live in Joy!

What is Joy? Joy isn’t happiness – happiness is temporary. Happiness disappears when something bad happens.  Joy is a choice. Joy is based on the condition of your heart. Choose to keep your heart focused on the Word!

One last thought… Joy comes when you wake up, for some of you who may be nocturnal that may happen at noon, when ever the “time” is, choose to wake up to who you are In Christ and see the potential of your life! As you do that and get into the Word you will live in enduring Joy!

Just Believe!

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13

We are filled with Hope, Joy and Peace when we believe!!

Believe what the Word says about you!
Believe who God says you are!
Believe God has good things for you!
Believe you have a destiny and a future!
Believe you are loved by God!

As you believe, you are filled with hope and Joy through the Holy Ghost!

The Fruit of the Spirit is Joy!

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
Joy is a fruit of the Spirit. When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are born again and the Holy Spirit lives on the inside of us. One of the characteristics of the Holy Spirit is Joy. We are not waiting to get Joy, we have Joy! It has already been given to us. We need to renew our thinking to the Word of God that reminds us that we have all things in Christ… including Complete Joy!

Today's Thought: What are some scriptures that help you renew your thinking, and walk in complete joy?

Always Full of Joy

These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. John 15:11
This scripture tells us that Jesus has given us His Joy. The same joy Jesus had is in us! Jesus says that the things he has spoken to us, keep our joy full. We don’t have to live up one day and down the next.  We have every Word He has spoken in written form in the Bible. Read it! Keep it before you and your Joy will be Constant and Full.

Today's Thought: What has God spoken to you that keeps your joy constant and full?

Family! Summer Fun 2011

Good Things Ahead...

Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalms 16:11

When you trust God with your life and He directs your steps, then your life is full of purpose and direction. As you continue to focus on that purpose and direction keeping God first place you understand true joy. As we remain in His Presence we experience a Fullness of Joy that cannot be achieved any other way. This verse also promises that at His right hand are pleasures evermore. God has good plans for us and good things for us but to live that out we need to Keep God First!

Today's Thought: What good plans does God have for you?

Walking In Joy!

Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Hebrews 1:9
This Scripture is talking about Jesus. While on the earth Jesus was anointed by the Holy Spirit. Jesus lived and moved in all of the fruit of the Spirit. One of those is JOY! This verse tells us that, Jesus, at the time he walked the earth, was anointed with JOY above all mankind. The good news is that NOW, we who are IN CHRIST, have the same anointing on the inside of us. We can operate in the same JOY that Jesus walked in. This Joy Jesus had was not based on temporary life but on Eternal life and Him knowing he was in RIGHT relationship with God.

Confidence & Trust = Perfect Peace

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.  Isaiah 26:3

As you purpose to keep your mind focused on God and His Word you will live in Peace. This is possible because your mind will be thinking the thoughts and words of God and not what it sees or feels in the natural realm. We can have confidence and trust in God and His Word in our everyday lives!

Today's Thought: How do you walk in peace?

The Peace of God

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:7

Allow God’s peace to rule in your heart and life. The Peace of God in your heart may not make sense to your brain. As you develop a sensitivity to God’s peace and start walking in that peace He will guide you and keep you from making mistakes.

Today's Thought: Think of a time God directed you to do something and you walked in peace knowing His plan for you was good, how did that feel?

Complete Peace!

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  John 14:27

Jesus lived in complete peace while on this earth. He was not afraid or distressed about any earthly situation…and Jesus told this verse to the disciples right before he went to the cross. He was facing death and still had complete peace! Jesus has given you His peace.  You don’t need to worry or be afraid. Have Confidence in Jesus and receive the peace He has provided for you.

Today's Thought: What scriptures remind you of God's peace and help you have confidence in His plan for your life?

What Should I Do?

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts… Colossians 3:15

Have you been praying that God will show you whether something you want to do is all right with Him or not?  Let the peace of God be your guide.  The Holy Spirit in you will give you a subtle sense of uneasiness or a subtle sense of peace.  Listen closely to that inward voice, it will act as an umpire for your every question.

Today's Thought: Think of a time you heard God's voice and had peace about a situation, how did that make you feel?

In Jesus’ Name, Amen

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.  John 14:13-14

“In Jesus’ Name.”  It’s more than something we say at the end of a prayer.  When you pray in the Name of Jesus, your prayers are presented to the Father on the credit of all that Jesus has already done.  Jesus on the cross has made a way for us to have eternal life (relationship with God), healing, help, & provision in all areas!  When we ask in the Name of Jesus, we understand that it is because of what Jesus has accomplished for us and not what we can do on our own merit. It Glorifies God when we, as God’s children, receive what His Son paid for.

Today's Thought: What have you asked for in Jesus' Name and received?

Salvation

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.  Acts 4:12

Jesus’ name is: Salvation.  This is more than just the saving of your soul. This word Salvation is translated from the Greek Word SOZO. This word means to save, deliver, protect, provide for and heal. It is encompassing to every part of us Spirit, Soul and Body. There is NO other name under heaven that has this power and NO other name can save, deliver, protect, provide for and heal you.  Jesus came so you can have the God kind of life now and through eternity!

El Shaddai

And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.  And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.  Genesis 17:1-2
Jesus’ name is: El Shaddai – Almighty God, the all-sufficient one (Genesis 17:1-9).  El Shaddai is the faithful, almighty God, who always keeps his promises.  God showed up for Abraham and God will show up for you!  He is big enough, mighty enough, for your biggest most impossible dreams.

Today's Thought: In what ways has God shown His faithfulness to you?

Jehovah Nissi

And (Jesus) having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:15
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4
Jesus’ name is: Jehovah Nissi – the Lord my banner, the Lord my victory (Exodus 17:8-16).  2000 years ago Jesus – the One who is in you – ruined satan’s kingdom.  Through His death on the cross, He striped satan of everything.  Then Jesus turned around, rose from the dead and obtained eternal victory.  Because He lives in you, you have the victory!  Victory means to overcome. Right now, today, You can overcome in Life because of what Jesus has provided.

What have you overcome because of the life you have in Christ?
